Your Questions Answered

We've answered some of your frequently asked questions about our Rubbish Clearance services in London and Surrey, if you have any further questions please get in touch by email at [email protected] or by phone on 0800 033 7930.

  • Do you do all of the work when clearing the rubbish?

Yes, we do all the lifting and removal of rubbish into our vans. You just tell us what and where to clear from and we do all the hard work, you just sit back and relax.

  • Will you tidy up at the end of the rubbish clearance?

Yes, our teams will make sure they sweep up to ensure there are no small annoying bits left leaving your space nice and clean.

  • Is there anything you don't take?

Yes, we cannot take any toxic materials. This service is for general rubbish such as your old belongings, furniture, garden fences, flooring, mixed construction items, carpet, to name a few examples. If you are not sure please email or call us.

  • How do I know my load size?

Check out our size guides if in doubt. If you have an approximate list of items and/or bags our staff would be able to advise. We can quote by sets of images as well which can be sent to us directly.

  • Do you provide larger commercial or ongoing rubbish clearance services?

Yes we do. We have tailored pricing for commercial trade or ongoing rubbish clearance services. Just contact our team today for more information. With any commercial or larger rubbish clearances we are more than happy to send over a team member to provide a site survey and waste management programme to see how we can utilise the rubbish and save you money.

  • What happens with my rubbish?

We are a fully licensed waste carrier and broker with the Environment Agency. All of the rubbish that is collected from your premises is taken directly to our recycling hubs where our team will segregate all items in for reuse, rehoming, or recycling. We stockpile a large amount of rubbish and waste at one time so that we are able to source the best service partners that have the same ethos and ethical process in recycling your unwanted rubbish or items. By doing this we provide a cost effective solution that does not cost the planet. We are currently diverting ~95% from landfill and reusing ~60%.

  • What waste materials can you take?

We take all types of non-hazardous bulky waste. Common examples include:

    – Builders /repairs /construction/ demolition / DIY waste – like kitchen and bathroom rip out, drywall, doors
    – Plasterboard – this must be separately bagged please
    – Bric-a-brac & general bulky junk – boxes, books, tools, clothes, toys, packaging materials
    – Furniture – sofa, mattress, armchair, cupboard, filing cabinets
    – Garden refuse – branches, cut grass, leaves, soil, old pots, lawn mower, garden furniture
    – Wood – fence panels, wood flooring, plywood, doors, garden dates, garden sheds, plasterboard
    – Flooring – underlay, carpet tiles, carpet, laminate
    – Appliances – like dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, computer, flat screen TV/monitor, lamp, domestic fridge

For regulatory and health & safety reasons, we cannot remove hazardous waste like asbestos, oil, petrol, diesel, clinical or biological waste.

  • What is a cubic yard and why do you use them to describe volume?

Despite the country going metric years ago, the waste industry loves to describe the volume of waste in ‘cubic yards’. A cubic yard measures 1 yard (3 foot or 0.92 metres) high x 1-yard wide x 1 yard deep. It is roughly the size of two washing machines (or one domestic fridge freezer). Our trucks are approx 20 cubic yards so we can fit approx 40 washing machines or 20 fridge freezers into our trucks.

  • What happens to the waste after you remove it

Waste is taken to our recycling hubs for segregating and processing. If we clear a just a single type of waste we will take it to one of our partnered commercial recycling facilities and disposed of in an environmentally responsible.

  • Your own recycling hubs?

Yes, we are one of very few house and rubbish clearance companies that has invested in our business and we are glad to say that all that is cleared is taken back to our recycling hub for processing our yard staff there have a joint recycling industry experience spanning over 50 years and we only use the most responsible and ethical recycling suppliers like Sweep EMR Metals we also have reuse partners such as Debra, British Heart Foundation, and Nickle.org so your rubbish / items is correctly reused or recycled and we aim on average of ~90%.

  • Where can you collect from?

We will collect your rubbish from inside, upstairs, outside – most locations, as long as it is safe to access. If you’re not going to be in you may want to move it outside or somewhere we can access it.

  • What items can you clear?

During a Rubbish Clearance, we can clear most types of items including furniture; electrical equipment; fixtures and fittings; rubbish and waste; and general clutter. Let us know what items you need clearing for a more accurate quote.

  • How much does a Rubbish Clearance cost?
