How to clean just like a hotel maid
When it comes to experts in the quick, yet effective clean, no one knows better than a hotel maid. These hard working cleaners need to refresh, replenish and scrub away at a number of rooms in one shift and often don’t have long to do them.
So how can that help the humble home cleaner? Here at Cullens we know that sometimes you can take a little advice from the experts and use it in on a smaller scale in your own home. That is why we have put together some of the top tips given by hotel maids that you can use to make sure that your home is just as a clean as a 5 star hotel!
In order to give a room a really good clean it is important for it to be clutter free first. Empty the rubbish, remove all the linens, the rugs, the cushions and any trinkets that are on the surfaces. This means that you will clean every inch of the surface rather than just around the items that normally live there!
Dust it off
Dust seems to be one of the trickiest things to get rid of; the most effective tool seems to be a microfiber cloth. But what if you don’t have one of these to hand? Some maids have said that there are other things that can clean up dust just as well; and old pillowcase or a slightly damp old t-shirt will remove the dust too and these won’t cost to replace!
Dust can also collect in the curtains, so when you are cleaning make sure you give them a good whack with a small hand towel before you hoover the floor of course!
This is especially true when it comes to household bathroom cleaners. Showers, baths and toilets can have a build of dirt and limescale on them and simply spraying and wiping them often won’t work.
Instead spray those areas first and then carry on cleaning the mirrors, shelves and windows etc. That way, once you head to those extra grubby bits the cleaner will already be working its magic.
A cleaner is only as good as their tools. So make sure that you have everything that you could need. Toothbrushes may sound like a strange thing to have in your cleaning bucket, but these useful little brushes are ideal for teeny tiny cracks that bigger brushes won’t reach.
Go against your mum’s advice
There is a good chance that as a child you were told to vacuum yourself out of a room. The maids tell us that instead you should vacuum into the room and then vacuum yourself back out. This makes
So there you have it, some great ideas straight from the mouth of maids right into your home. Whilst your guests may just be your loved ones, you can still make sure that their stay is a pleasant one.
